About Opportunity
The internationally recognized institute, Royal Meteorological Society invites photographers from around the world to participate in its 2024 Photo competition - Weather Photographer of the Year. Photographs taken in any medium are acceptable. The selection committee comprises international and local representatives of the Royal Society, as well as invited professionals, including Professor Liz Bentley, Kevin Thomas, Jo Bradford, Dan Green, Fiona Wachera, Aisha Owusu, ASM Rezaur Rahman, Wilf Matos, and Jamie McBean. The judges will select and award the winners with a cash prize of £5,000 to the best overall photograph showcasing the beauty and power of weather, open to photographers worldwide.
About Organizer
The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) was founded in 1850 in the United Kingdom. The Weather Photographer of the Year is an annual competition organized by the Royal Meteorological Society in association with AccuWeather. The competition aims to showcase the beauty and power of weather and climate through photography. It encourages both amateur and professional photographers to capture striking images that illustrate the impact of weather on the planet.
