About Opportunity

The UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts Karlsruhe is accepting applications from international artists, cultural, and media professionals, especially those from UNESCO Media Arts Cluster cities, for the 2024 Media Art project funding program. This call aims to promote collaborative, interdisciplinary, and outdoor media arts projects, supporting international networking in the media arts field. An expert jury from the arts, cultural, and creative industries will select projects designed for outdoor spaces with high public visibility, utilizing technological media or tools. Funding of up to €40,000 per project is available. Selected projects will be exhibited in Summer 2025 as part of the “Media Art is Here” exhibition in Karlsruhe, Germany.

About Organizer

Since 2019, Karlsruhe has been recognized as the UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts and is part of the international UNESCO Creative Cities Network. The Seasons of Media Arts festival (“Media Art is Here”), launched in 2019, showcases digital, interactive, and virtual art in public spaces, transforming Karlsruhe into a platform for innovative, collaborative, and networked media art accessible to everyone.
