The Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts) is accepting applications on 2025-26 Residency Program

The internationally recognized Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts) invites visual artists and writers from around the world to apply for its 11-month residency program in the United States. Priority will be given to artists with an established creative practice who are either emerging in their field or exploring new ideas and media. A professional jury will select three visual artists and one writer to participate in the residency, which will take place at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond from September 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026. During the program, participants will create new work that will be presented in a group exhibition and reading at VisArts midway through the residency. The organization will provide selected participants with accommodation and a dedicated art studio.

The Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts) has been fostering creativity and artistic expression 1963. Annually, the organization engages over 50,000 individuals through its diverse offerings, including classes, exhibitions, community programs, camps, and special events.
The residency program receives partial funding from grants provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Windgate Foundation, CultureWorks, the Virginia Commission for the Arts, and the Allen and Margot Blank Foundation.
