About Opportunity

The internationally recognized UK-based Mall Galleries, in partnership with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI), invites both international and local oil artists to participate in its ROI Annual Exhibition 2024. This year’s theme is “EAT,” and artists are encouraged to express their perspectives and interpretations freely. The only accepted medium is oil paint. The international selection committee, composed of ROI members, will choose the artworks and further contact the selected artists for artwork delivery.

About Organizer

The Federation of British Artists manages the Mall Galleries, which was founded in 1961 in London, UK. The gallery encourages artists through various initiatives, such as exhibitions, calls and awards.
The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, established in 1882, is the British art society dedicated exclusively to promoting and exhibiting works created in oil paint.

Eligibility:

  • Both emerging and professional oil artists or painters, over the age of 18, from across the globe can participate

Project/event location:

  • England, UK

Participation fee:

  • Submission fee is £20/per artwork


Award/prize: 

  • Cash Prize:

    • The Roger Remington Award of £4,000 

    • The Peter Wileman Award of £500 

    • The Rosemary Brushes Award of £250 

  •  Exhibition

  • Artworks on sale

  • Publication on Mall Galleries website

Application requirements:

  • Online application form

  • CV/portfolio

  • Artist statement

  • Images of artworks (JPEG or PNG format and under 5MB)

  • Artworks description

  • Artists can submit max. 6 artworks

  • Artists must submit work that has been completed within the last three years and have not been previously exhibited at Mall Galleries

The submission closes:

  • 4 October, 2024

Selected artists will be announced:

  • 25 October, 2024
