The International Association of Art Critics announces call for 2025 art critics prize

The International Association of Art Critics (AICA) is accepting submissions from international art critics, commentators, curators, and educators writing for newspapers, magazines, television, radio, or online platforms. The selected essays will be part of the 2025 AICA International Congress, taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa, from October 27 to 31, 2025. This year’s theme invites contributions related to Imaging, Shaping, Re-Thinking the Global South through Art. The AICA International Awards Committee will review and rank the submissions. Only the three winning authors will be notified by email and announced during the Congress. The first-place winner will be invited to present the essay via Zoom, and all winning essays will be published on the AICA International website.

The International Association of Art Critics (AICA) was founded in 1950 and officially recognized as an NGO by UNESCO in 1951. Its mission is to promote art criticism, support professional standards, protect the rights of art critics, and foster international dialogue and cultural exchange in the field of visual arts.
