About Opportunity

The DYSTOPIA Biennial has announced a call for proposals for its upcoming 2024 edition, scheduled from September 6th to 29th, 2024. This year’s theme’s name is "dys/utopia" and focuses on sound art. The biennial aims to feature a wide range of sound art practices, including installations, performances, experimental music, listening sessions, and projects in public spaces. DYSTOPIA 24 will particularly highlight sound-related practices from the Indian subcontinent. The DYSTOPIA Biennial invites artists to either create new works or present existing ones that challenge our dys/utopian realities and imagine alternative worlds. An international jury will select approximately 15 projects for the Berlin 2024 edition.

About Organizer

Errant Sound, founded in 2016, operates as an independent association of sound artists based in Berlin, Germany, managing a nonprofit sound art gallery. By organizing various art biennials, the organization aims to foster connections between the dynamic local and international sound artists. In line with previous editions, Errant Sound intends to collaborate with organizations to curate subsequent exhibitions.
