About Opportunity

The internationally recognized Catapult Film Fund is accepting applications from emerging documentary filmmakers, who are working on the development of documentary features or shorts, for The Catapult Development Grant 2024. This grant can be used for a variety of development needs and must result in the creation of a fundraising piece for elevating further collaborations and sponsorships. In this funding cycle, The Catapult Development Grant will choose up to 15 participants, each receiving support of up to $25,000. This year’s grant theme prioritizes artful and active storytelling and is not tied to any specific social issues. Documentaries must be in development or early production with an intended length of 28 minutes or longer.

About Organizer

The Catapult Film Fund, an international non-profit organization based in the United States, established the Catapult Development Fund (Grant) in 2010. This initiative is committed to providing essential early-stage funding and mentorship to nonfiction filmmakers, enabling them to create unique, narrative-driven, and visually captivating films.

Catapult provides research and development funding to documentary filmmakers who have a meaningful story to tell, and are prepared to produce visual samples to attract further production support.
