About Opportunity

The internationally recognized TaDA Artist-in-Residence programme is accepting applications for its 2026 three-month residency from both international and Swiss visual and performing artists, designers, and architects. Each year, six selected residents have the opportunity to collaborate with textile companies in Eastern Switzerland, work in a local studio in Arbon, and expand their professional networks. Applicants must submit a detailed project proposal outlining the work they intend to develop during the residency. An international selection committee will review submissions and select six artists, who will be provided with accommodation, a fully equipped studio, and production materials. The residency concludes with a public event, "TaDA Spinnerei", where the final projects will be presented alongside talks by international speakers and attended by a wide audience.

About Organizer

Founded in 2019 in Eastern Switzerland, TaDA – Textile and Design Alliance is a cultural program supported by the cantons of St. Gallen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, and Thurgau. It promotes creative exchange by offering annual residencies to six national and international artists working in art, design, architecture, literature, performing arts, or interdisciplinary fields. In collaboration with local textile companies, residents gain access to technical expertise and facilities to develop experimental projects. The program encourages artistic research and practical work, with final results presented to the public through various events.
