About Opportunity

The internationally recognized art organization Smack Mellon invites emerging artists worldwide to submit artworks for its 2025 summer group exhibition, which will be curated by New York City-based curator and writer Pallavi Surana. The exhibition will explore themes of global migration, and belonging through the metaphor of salt marshes, the transitional spaces that embody tension and transformation between land and water. Artists are encouraged to submit works that reflect Surana's research on migration, excess, interstitial spaces, and the fluidity of borders. The international selection committee will choose the artists, whose artworks will be showcased at Smack Mellon’s gallery in Brooklyn, New York.
