About Opportunity

Elizabeth A-i-R is a collaborative initiative between Erzsébetváros Municipality and Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. Residents of the program will work for one month on a photo project, which will be presented to the public at the end of the residency in a form agreed upon with the organizers and taking the budget into consideration. Artists will participate in public activities such as a 40-minute artist discussion at MOME, an open studio day for residents, a tour guide, or a closing exhibition presentation. The works made by the residence participants will be kept in the archives of ELIZABETH A-i-R.

About Organizer

MOME is Hungary's most prestigious design university. The University is well-known for its undergraduate and graduate photography programs, which have a nearly four-decade legacy of quality and continuous reinvention. The University will be celebrating its 140th anniversary in 2020.

To apply it is necessary to submit:

  • Artwork / Portfolio;
  • Project Description;
  • CV.

 

Prize/Award: 

  • Accommodation - The resident will live and work in a 200 m2 two-storey studio apartment;
  • Exhibition - Pop-up exhibition in the centre of Budapest;
  • Funding - 1000 1000 for living expenses;
  • Production - The artist will receive an additional Є 1000 for producing a pop-up exhibition in central Budapest;
  • Travel - Elizabeth A-i-R covers travel expenses up to 500 500;
  • The resident will have access to MOME Library, Canteen, Common Office Space, Photo Studio and Negative Lab.
