About Opportunity
If the interaction between people, technology, and environment fascinates you as an artist, Wild Bits Art Residence will provide you with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get expertise in this field.
Project Wild Bits is an exhibition idea that offers a desert art park on a temporary basis. The show seeks intersections between humans, technology, and nature. Technological art installations comprised of sounds, lights, messages, sculptures, or their online equivalents are installed in natural settings such as woods, meadows, swamps, and lakes.
The residency will take place during the summer of 2022. The residency will last three weeks. The works developed during this time will be shown at Maajaam and at satellite exhibits in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania until 2025.
About Organizer
Maajaam (Estonian for "Earth Station") is a modest art centre built on an old farm in Otepää Park in southern Estonia. Previously used for agriculture, the buildings have been turned into high-tech art studios and artists' houses.
Maajaam's principal themes are the relationships between humans, technology, and nature. These subjects are explored through diverse creative approaches, resulting in installations, sculptures, interventions, performances, movies, photography, software, and other media.
