About Opportunity

NEF Animation encourages writing and creative research in the field of animated movies by creating artist residence programs that foster international mobility. The Royal Abbey of Fontevro, one of the most prominent locations in the Loire Valley, is hosting the International Residence of Animated Films (France). The International Residence of Animated Films allows artists to work on their own animations for a month in a peaceful and inspiring environment, with no material limits.

NEF Animation is a non-profit organization dedicated to animation research and development. It brings together experts from a variety of fields, including authors, directors, producers, distributors, students, professors, cultural mediators, and institutions.

Who can Participate:

Only non-French artists living abroad can apply.

Application details

To apply for the Residency, the applicant needs to upload:

  • Project Description;
  • Motivation Letter;
  • CV;
  • Artwork / Portfolio.

 

Prize/Award: 

  • Accommodation - residents will be accommodated in the abbey;
  • Funding - € 1200;
  • Travel - Travel expenses are reimbursed based on a price schedule calculated in proportion to the distance between the artist's home and Fontevro Abbey.
  • Residents will also have access to a garden and a 100m2 shared workshop (without equipment).
