About Opportunity

Participants in the Coded Biophilia workshop will be able to experiment with interactive clothes and biological fabrics. Students will investigate the possibilities of bacterial cellulose in terms of increasing living material for the future of textiles and develop speculative scenarios for secondary leathers, sensors, and modified sensitive structures throughout the workshop. Participants will be able to see the creation of touch surfaces for clothing and envision how biotechnology and new materials change the environment around them. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify the most recent interactive clothing and biotextile applications.
