About Opportunity

The internationally recognized Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) invites two UK-based artists specializing in drawing, painting, sculpture, or textiles to apply for a £6,000 commission. The selected artists will create regionally inspired works for Living Labyrinths: Art and Fungi, an exhibition exploring themes of symbiosis, biodiversity, environmental sustainability, and the transformative role of fungi in shaping the world. An international selection panel seeks artwork that changes traditional disciplinary boundaries, engaging with complex scientific concepts through a critically informed, contemporary art perspective. Throughout the creative process, artists will have the opportunity to explore RAMM’s collections and collaborate with its curators. The exhibition will run from 3 October, 2026 to 21 February, 2027.
