About Opportunity

The international organization Rockland Woods is currently open for submissions from artists worldwide for its two residency programs scheduled for the fall and winter periods. Each residency program lasts three weeks, accommodating 8-10 residents in October and 6-8 residents in January. All international artists aged 25 and above, working in diverse artistic mediums are eligible for the program. The selection committee will evaluate applicants based on their experience and portfolio. Selected artists will receive accommodation and dedicated working space throughout the entire residency period. Rockland Woods’s residency program is an unique opportunity for chosen participants to execute their visual art projects in open spaces and collaborate with fellow artists from various artistic disciplines.

Rockland was established in 2015 by Jodi Rockwell and Shawn Landis with an aim to support  artists. The organization provids complimentary living accommodations and studio spaces during residency programs. Organization is committed to providing opportunities for dedicated artists, regardless of their career stage, who submit competitive work samples. Eligibility:

  • International artists over the age of 25, working in any artistic media, individually or in groups/collectives (max. 2-3 people) can apply for residency

Participation fee:

  • The participation fee is $25


Award/prize: 

  • Accommodation (glamping)

  • Working studio 

  • The food budget is $300 total for each resident during their stay.


Application requirements:

  • Online application form

  • CV/portfolio

  • Artist statement 

  • Visual artists: upload 10 images or 3 video samples

  • Writers: upload 5-20 pages from one or more pieces

  • Musicians: upload up to 3 samples

  • Artists are responsible for their own travel expenses
