About Opportunity

Internationally recognized Italian institution PORADA, in partnership with POLI.design, has launched a global competition. The project targets professional as well as student artists. The aim of the competition is to discover cutting-edge and contemporary concepts specifically for various mirror types, ranging from table and wall mirrors to structural and furnishing accessories, with a focus on the creative utilization of solid wood. The applicants should submit original, previously unpublished designs. A prestigious selection committee, composed of representatives from Porada, the Association for Industrial Design, POLI.design, and five industry experts specializing in project disciplines and sector-focused publishing, will carefully assess applications and choose winners. The winning design will be chosen based on the following criteria: innovative approach, exploration of novel design, using solid wood.

About Organizer

Porada was established in 1968 by Luigi Allievi combining technological processes with the artisan tradition of Italian design. Nowadays, the organization offers high-quality contemporary furniture to an international audience while also fostering the growth of modern designers and visual artists in their artistic careers.

  • Artist statement 

  • A brief descriptive text-only report (max. 3 000 words) without images (The pdf file of the report must be in a vertical ISO-A4 format sheet (21 x 29.7 cm))

  • Graphics consisting of no. 3 horizontal ISO-A3 tables (42 x 29.7 cm), in pdf format, composed on the layout of the table that can be downloaded

  • Projects must be original, unpublished and exclusively developed for the competition
