About Opportunity

The international organization Picto Foundation has officially launched the 4th edition of its renowned annual 3-month residency program, "PICTO LAB”. The program is open to talented photographers from all over the world. Aspiring candidates are invited to submit their portfolios and professional experiences via email. The winners will be selected by the selection committee. "PICTO LAB” is a prestigious opportunity allowing individuals to actualize their creative visions or engage in research projects covering various disciplines, find the better ways of expressing their creativity and art. An enriching residency will be held at La Cité Internationale des Arts, situated in the heart of Paris, serving as a vibrant place for artists across generations. The residency is scheduled from May 3 to July 26, 2024.

About Organizer

Picto Foundation was established in 2016 by Philippe Gassmann and seeks to assist individuals within the photography sector with their professional development and creative concerns.

PICTO LAB is a platform for photographers to engage and network with professionals who have the potential to contribute to the advancement of their contemporary works.

The Picto Foundation collaborates with different partners in the PICTO LAB program and receivs support from different public and private organizations, including institutions such as the Cité internationale des arts, the a ppr oc he exhibition, and Fujifilm.

Eligibility:

  • All international photographers, who have at least 2 years of working experience, can apply for the residency program 


Project/event location:

  • Paris, France 


Participation fee:

  • participation is free


Award/prize: 

  • Accommodation for international photographers 

  • Allowance - €4,000

  • Artist grant - €10,000 for production expenses

  • Artists will be provided by Fujifilm's materials for the advancement of the residency project

  • Artists are self responsible for travelling expenses 


Application requirements:

  • CV/portfolio

  • Artist statement

  • Motivation letter (max. 4 pages)

  • Letter for project sponsoring
