About Opportunity

The internationally recognized Tbilisi-based center Ubani invites students, professionals, enthusiasts, and craft lovers from fields such as art, architecture, urban planning, restoration, conservation, geography, cartography, design, sculpture, and painting to take part in the upcoming Tbilisi Landscape Modeling Workshop, led by renowned Italian architect and scholar Renato Rizzi. Organized in collaboration with IUAV University of Venice team members Susanna Pisciella and Giorgia Antonioli, the workshop will focus on developing a landscape model of Tbilisi. The Landscape Modeling Workshop, held at Kinos Sakhli (Cinema House) in Tbilisi, is divided into two sessions: September 1–10, focusing on the Tbilisi Orthogonal Model, and September 11–21, dedicated to the Metekhi Cliff Panoramic Model. Physical attendance is required, and participants will choose which project to join. Working in small groups guided by assistant instructors, participants will engage in techniques such as paper cutting, gluing, silicone casting, and plaster casting. Through observation, study, and creation, they will develop models at various scales, with the process culminating in a final exhibition at the TBC Concept space.
