Mittelfest is accepting applications from emerging artists for the Mittelyoung 2025

The internationally recognized cultural association Mittelfest has announced the open call for its fifth edition of Mittelyoung, an international festival dedicated to showcase Theatre, Dance, Music, and Circus projects by emerging artists under the age of 30. The festival will take place in Cividale del Friuli, Italy, from May 15 to 18, 2025. The Mittelyoung is open to individual artists and collectives, each with a maximum of six members, all aged under 30, residing from countries across Central Europe and the Balkans. The international selection committee, consisted by curators under 30, in collaboration with regional and international cultural institutions, will select nine projects (2 theatre, 2 music, 2 dance, 2 circus and one project that may belong to one of the above categories), each receive financial support of up to €4,000, covering production costs, travel, and accommodation expenses. Three of these projects will advance to Mittelfest Tabù, scheduled from July 18 to 27, 2025.

Mittelfest Association, founded in 1991, conducts an international, multidisciplinary festival featuring theatre, music, dance, and circus arts. Serving as both a platform for live performances in Italy and a cultural institution deeply connected to Cividale del Friuli in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, the association also plays a pivotal role in fostering connections between Italy and Central Europe.
