MARK ROTHKO 2025 International Painting Symposium is accepting applications

The internationally recognized Rothko Museum invites artists to apply for the “Mark Rothko 2025” International Painting Symposium, a dynamic creative forum held as part of the museum’s residency program. This annual event, celebrating Mark Rothko’s birthday, has taken place every September for over twenty years. Artists from various disciplines are encouraged to submit their portfolios and samples of previous work for consideration. A jury panel will review all submissions and notify selected participants after June 10, 2025. Chosen artists must confirm their participation within five days of receiving the invitation.

​The Mark Rothko 2025 International Painting Symposium is organized by the Rothko Museum, officially known as the Daugavpils City Municipality Institution Rothko Museum. Established in 2013. The museum serves as a multifunctional hub for contemporary art, culture, and education. Its mission includes promoting cultural tourism in Latvia, enhancing the international image and cultural competitiveness of Daugavpils, and facilitating the development of exceptional cultural products and public cultural services. ​
