About Opportunity

The internationally recognized organization, Kala Art Institute, launched its 2024-25 Fellowship Program for international artists. The program targets artists who are creating innovative art pieces in various mediums, such as printmaking, photography, digital media, social practice, film and video, sound, animation, performance cinema, media art installation, and book arts. The fellowship is designed to provide support for artists aiming to finalize particular projects or bodies of work. The selection jury will choose the six artists from a variety of disciplines based on conceptual creativity, originality, and artistic excellence. The fellowship stipend is $3,000.

About Organizer

Kala Art Institute is the international non-profit organizaionwas founded in 1974 by Archana Horsting and Yuzo Nakano in Berkeley, CA.

For over 30 years the mission of the Kala Art Institute has been to support artists in maintaining their creative practice over time by offering Artist-in-Residence and Fellowship Programs and to engage the community through exhibitions, public programs, and educational initiatives.

Eligibility:

  • Both emerging and professional artists, working in different artistic medium, from all over the world can apply for this fellowship program
