About Opportunity

The international organization, Global Cement Concrete Association (GCCA) has announced its fifth annual Concrete in Life photography competition, in which all emerging and professional photographers can take part from across the globe. To participate in the competition, applicants should upload their entry photos on their public accounts either on Instagram or Twitter, accompanied by the hashtag - #ConcreteInLife2023. Contestants are not limited in terms of theme or medium. The judges of the Concrete in Life photography competition are: Thomas Guillot (Chief Executive of GCCA), Chris George (Content Director at Digital Camera World) and Paul Makovsky (Editor in Chief, ARCHITECT Magazine). The selection criteria are: creativity & style, composition, center of interest, lighting and color balance.

About Organizer

Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) is a huge, international organization that represents the cement and concrete industry worldwide, focusing on sustainability and environmental issues within the sector.

Over the last five years, GCCA has been extending a yearly invitation to photographers, encouraging their participation in a submission call dedicated to support their career advancement through the cash prizes.

  • All emerging and professional photographers above the age of 18 can participate

  • Participation is free


Award/prize: 

  • Cash prize - $10,000

  • Audience choice award - $5,000


Application requirements:

  • To participate in the competition, applicants must upload their entry photo on their public account either on Instagram or Twitter, accompanied by the hashtag - #ConcreteInLife2023 and one of the four designated category hashtags

  • The artists should also specify the location, where the photo was taken


The submission closes:

  • 15 November, 2023
