About Opportunity
Call for the CIMAM Annual Conference is open now. The conference will award with travel grant researchers and independent curators whose field of research and specialisation is contemporary art theory, collections and museums. Applicants should not be involved in any kind of commercial or for-profit activity.
About Organizer
CIMAM Annual Conference is organized by members of the CIMAM board coming from Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, Singapore and other locations.
This year the topic of the conference is "Under Pressure - Museums in Times of Xenophobia and Climate Emergency." The conference will address the questions: How can artists be agents of change, and museums be places to test proposals for the communities of the future? Can museums guide processes of political and/or technological solutions?
The conference is offering travel grants for interested artists and researchers. The aim of the grant is to allow candidates to attend not only the speaker presentations but also all the activities scheduled during the 3-day conference such as the networking and workshops sessions, and the visits to the main contemporary art exhibitions in Poland.
This year's conference will offer a hybrid format with the programs adapted to physical and virtual scenarios.
The conference hosts are: Muzeum Sztuki in Lodz and the NOMUS New Art Museum/ Branch of the National Museum in Gdansk, Poland.

Who can Participate: Artists are invited to apply without any restrictions on age, place of residence or nationality.

Application details: Travel grants are conferred based on the assessment of the candidate’s genuine financial need, the potential benefit to his/her development and/or research and the relevance of field experience in relation to the objectives of CIMAM.
Prize/Award:
- Travel grant (conference registration fee, travel expenses, accommodation, access to online platform)
- Attending the festival in Gdansk and Lodz, Poland (online or physically)
