About Opportunity

The internationally recognized Arthena Foundation, in collaboration with Kunststiftung NRW, is pleased to announce the 2024 Residency Program at Atelier Galata Studio in Istanbul, Turkey. The program is open to artists working in literature, music, performing arts, and visual arts, with this year's focus on the field of drawing. An international selection committee will choose two visual artists from North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) to receive the residency grant.

About Organizer

The Arthena Foundation, founded by Monika Schnetkamp, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting contemporary art. It operates the KAI 10 exhibition space in Düsseldorf, which opened in 2008. The foundation supports emerging and established artists through exhibitions and residencies.

Since 2009, the Kunststiftung NRW has operated the Galata Studio in Istanbul, providing artists with a space to work in a stimulating environment and connect with the local art community.

Eligibility:

Both emerging and professional visual artists over the age of 18 from Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia) can apply for this residency

Working art studio
Accommodation in Istanbul and travel expenses up to €600 are covered by foundation
Monthly allowance - €1,200
