About Opportunity

The UK-based company Hyde Devco Ltd. is offering a £30,000 commission for a public art installation or a sculpture at the Former Adur Civic Centre in Shoreham-by-Sea, UK. The commissioned artwork will be installed at the main entrance of a residential block in a prominent location, visible from Brighton Road and Eastern Avenue when approaching Shoreham-by-Sea from the east. It may take any form, whether a single piece or a multi-piece composition, and can be integrated into the landscape or street furniture. The design must be durable, vandal-resistant, and maintenance-free while reflecting a connection to the site, Shoreham-by-Sea, or Southwick. The selected artist will follow a structured, paid development process with four stage payments. A final design presentation is required by the end of month three, with project completion expected within nine months of commissioning.

About Organizer

The Hyde was founded in 1967 by a group of professional businessmen aiming to provide high-quality homes for those underserved by the market. As a social business from the start, it has remained committed to this mission, combining a strong social purpose with entrepreneurial vision and professional expertise.
Hyde regularly announces open calls for artists to create public artworks that enhance community spaces. These commissions typically focus on sculptures or installations that reflect the local environment and culture while being durable and low-maintenance.
