About Opportunity
The European Parliament and the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen are accepting applications from international young artists or cultural practitioners for The European Charlemagne Youth Prize 2025. The award is given to youth-led projects that foster democracy, promote active citizenship and bring communities together. Projects must foster cooperation and understanding across Europe and globally, rooted in democratic values such as human dignity, freedom, equality, the rule of law, and respect for human rights. The projects should cultivate a shared European identity, promote integration, inspire youth participation in democracy, and embody the spirit of Europeans living together as a community. Projects are ineligible for the European Charlemagne Youth Prize if they are in early planning stages without identifiable results, submitted by individuals affiliated with European institutions or the previous Charlemagne Prize winners. The selection process consists of two stages: first, national juries in each Member State select the best project from their respective countries. Then, a European jury chooses three winners from the 27 national finalists. The winners will receive cash prizes as part of their recognition. Representatives from each of the national winning projects are invited to the Charlemagne Youth Prize award ceremony on 27th May, 2025 in Aachen, Germany.
About Organizer
