About Opportunity

The international organization ENCATC - The European Network on Cultural Management and Policy is hosting the 2024 ENCATC Annual Congress. The event will be held on September 18th-20th, 2024, in Lecce, Italy. This year, the forum will highlight and discuss cutting-edge research in the field of cultural policy and management. As part of this congress, ENCATC is inviting international artists and cultural workers to submit abstracts, teaching demonstrations, panel proposals, and poster proposals to participate in The Education and Research Session (E&RS).

About Organizer

ENCATC is a non-governmental organization, that  is a partner of UNESCO, and an observer to the Steering Committee for Culture of the Council of Europe. ENCATC serves as a voice for cultural management and policy education, fostering sustainability in the cultural sector and facilitating dialogue on a European and global scale.

Contributions may be related, but not limited to the following themes:

  • Towards a Sustainable Economy

  • Climate Change, Sustainability, and Risk Management 

  • Social Inequalities and Cultural Engagement

  • Inter- and Trans-disciplinary Innovation

  • Accounting for change


Types of submissions:


Eligibility:

  • All artists or cultural workers in the field of cultural policy and management from all over the world can participate in the congress

Award/prize: 

  • Publication opportunity in the European Journal of Cultural Management and Policy (EJCMP) 


Application requirements:

  • Online application form in English

  • Applicants can submit either: abstracts, teaching demonstrations, panel, or poster proposals

  • Abstract (max. 500 words) must include: Title, Author(s) details (names, affiliations, e-mails of all authors), 3-5 keywords, Aim, context, and objectives of the research. Theoretical framework informing the research, Methodological approach, Summary of the main or expected results and conclusion

  • Teaching demonstrations are intended to provide innovative teaching methods, exchange of curricula, and e-learning interactive tools for the improvement of conventional teaching (max. 300 words)

  • Panel session should be organized in a panel Discussion format, including 3-4 abstract presentations

  • Poster presentations (max.300 words) - The author(s) are responsible for printing out their posters and bring them to the Congress site
