About Opportunity

The European Union’s co-financed project MODINA (Movement, Digital Intelligence, and Interactive Audience) opens applications for its 2024 Dance and Technology Residency Program, inviting duos of European-based dance artists and creative technologists. This year, the MODINA organizes five 8-week residency programs taking place between January and May 2025. MODINA is hosting residencies at five performance centers: CNDB (Romania), Kino Siska (Slovenia), STL (Estonia), tanzhaus nrw (Germany), and Trafo (Hungary). Two residencies are ‘General’ for European-based artist duos, and three are ‘Regional’ for duos with at least one member from Estonia, Hungary, Slovenia, or the Western Balkans. During the residency program, artists will have the opportunity to work on their projects and present them to an audience and international colleagues at the end of the program.

About Organizer

MODINA is a 3-year Creative Europe cooperation project, co-financed by the European Union.
The MODINA (Movement, Digital Intelligence, and Interactive Audience) project seeks to enhance the creative potential of contemporary dance performances and elevate the audience's experience through the use of digital technology, particularly focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and audience interaction.
This year’s residencies will receive the mentorship from academic partners, from 3 universities: Hochschule Düsseldorf, Tallinn University and University of Lisbon.
