About Opportunity

The international organization New English Art Club (NEAC) is inviting UK based early-career artists working in figurative painting, drawing, or original printmaking to apply for the 2024-25 NEAC Artists Scholarship. This year, the amount of scholarship for each artist is £5,000. The scholarship aims to financially support artists to pursue their careers. Artists are required to submit their portfolio and examples of artwork , which will be reviewed by an international jury to select the scholarship recipients.

About Organizer

The New English Art Club (NEAC) was founded in 1886 in London, England, as an alternative to the Royal Academy of Arts. Since then, the NEAC has continued  to promote contemporary British art, especially figurative and representational work, offering exhibitions, scholarships, and a supportive community for artists. Its aim is to promote and advance the practice of figurative art in the UK.

Eligibility:

  • All Early-career artists working in figurative painting, drawing or original printmaking, over the age of 18, who live and work in the UK can participate


Project/event location:

  • London, UK


Participation fee:

  • Participation is free


Award/prize: 

  • Scholarship prizes of - £5,000 and £250 

  • A year of mentorship with leading figures of the NEAC

  • Free entry to all courses, classes and workshops run by the NEAC Education Programme


Application requirements:

  • Online application form in English

  • CV/portfolio in PDF file

  • Personal information

  • Up to 6 examples of artworks

  • Artists should explain, what the NEAC Scholarship means to them and how they would engage in it (max. 350 words)
