About Opportunity
The Institute for Advanced Study at CEU (IAS CEU) invites applications for its Artist in Residence Program for the 2026/2027 academic year. Each year, IAS CEU awards one Writer in Residence and one Visual/New Media Artist in Residence fellowship, supporting artists in creating new works while fostering exchange with the community of IAS Fellows. These fellowships (up to 5 months, minimum 3 months) are competitively offered to both established and emerging artists in creative writing (poetry, prose, drama, screen- and playwriting) and in the visual and new media arts (painting, film, digital art, computer graphics, interactive art). Residents are expected to take part in the academic life of IAS CEU, including weekly seminars and a public presentation of their work. Applications must be submitted through the online registration form. All proposals will be reviewed by a professional selection committee, and results will be announced in March 2026. Selected fellows will receive accommodation, a working art studio, and an artist fellowship allowance.
