About Opportunity

The internationally recognized U.S.-based Jeffrey Rubinoff Sculpture Park is pleased to announce a Postdoctoral Award opportunity for PhD researchers and artists working in the fields of art and education. The award offers $7,000 CAD (approximately $5,000 USD or £3,900) to support research leading to one or more publications on any topic relating to art and knowledge. Funds may be used to cover research or publication-related expenses, including travel, archival work, research assistance, image permissions, and open-access fees. Applications will be evaluated by an international selection committee, with decisions based on the submitted research statement and writing sample. The award recipient is expected to present their research in person at the Company of Ideas Forum, which will take place at the Jeffrey Rubinoff Sculpture Park on Hornby Island, British Columbia, Canada, from June 15–17, 2026. All travel expenses associated with attendance will be fully covered.

About Organizer

The Jeffrey Rubinoff Sculpture Park, established in 2005 and opened to the public in 2008, is located in Canada. Over four decades, Jeffrey Rubinoff created more than a hundred steel sculptures on-site, which now form the core of the park’s collection. The park’s mission is to revive the spirit of modernism and to promote art as a serious source of insight and knowledge. As part of its educational initiatives, the park launched the Postdoctoral Award in 2017, offering $7,000 CAD to support early-career researchers whose work explores art as a source of knowledge.
