About Opportunity

The internationally recognized Berlin Photo Awards is accepting applications from both emerging and professional photographers worldwide, offering them an opportunity to submit and showcase their work. This year, participants will compete in four main categories: People, Nature, Urban, and Special. All entries will be carefully evaluated by an esteemed panel of international judges, including renowned photographers, curators, and industry professionals. Each submission will be assessed based on three key criteria: creativity, originality, and technical excellence. The winners will be announced on April 27, 2025, and will receive cash prizes.

2025 Award Categories:

  • People (portraits, wedding, family, fashion, etc.)

  • Nature (landscapes, wildlife, animals, weather, etc.)

  • Urban (street photography, architecture, etc.)

  • Special (minimalist photography, smartphone photography, fine art, etc.)

Eligibility:

  • Both emerging and professional photographers from all over the world can submit their images

Project/event location:

  • Berlin, Germany

Participation fee:

  • The submission fee for the first image is €25; for each additional image, it is €10

Award/prize: 

  • Grand Prize: €1,000 for the top winner

  • Category Winners: €250 each for 4 category winners

  • Online gallery display

  • Digital certificates

Application requirements:

  • Online application form in English

  • Artist statement

  • Photographs (JPEG; Max. size 5MB)

  • Description and category

  • There is no limit to the number of submissions
