About Opportunity

The prestigious Belfast Photo Festival has officially opened its submission form, inviting photographers, artists, and curators from across the globe to participate. This year's photo competition boasts an open theme, welcoming submissions that must be photographic or lens-based. Applicants are encouraged to explore other art forms such as performance, painting, sculpture, music, and literature within their submissions. The 2024 Belfast Photo Festival will be judged by a panel of influential international experts in the field of photography. They will select approximately 40 photographers, providing them with an opportunity to showcase and publish their photographs.

About Organizer

The Belfast Photo Festival is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2011. Since then, it presents one of the leading annual international festivals of photography in the United Kingdom and the Visual Arts Festival of Northern Ireland.

The festival attracts thousands of visitors each year, celebrating some of the finest national and international contemporary photography across 30 museums, galleries, and public spaces.
The Belfast Photo Festival offers an ideal opportunity for artists to showcase their work to a global audience, as past editions have seen more than 150,000 visitors from various parts of the world.

Years Free RPS Membership - Free 1-year membership of Royal Photographic Society
Abridged Editorial Award - Presentation in a special Festival issue of Abridged Magazine
