About Opportunity

The internationally recognized organization Vimeo launches 2025 Vimeo Short Film Grant, presented by Nikon | RED, and accepts applications from photographers and emerging filmmakers who have completed at least two short films but have yet to produce a feature film. Applicants must submit detailed project proposals in English. The selection process prioritizes originality, seeking fresh perspectives—whether personal, experimental, or socially relevant. Impact is key, as stories should resonate artistically and culturally with audiences. Feasibility is also considered, ensuring projects can be completed within the proposed budget and timeline. Lastly, strong storytelling and a clear artistic vision are essential. An international selection committee will choose five grant recipients and provide one-on-one mentorship to each filmmaker throughout the program.
