About Opportunity

The Art Explora Foundation, in collaboration with the Cité Internationale des Arts, opens application forms for the 2025-26 Residency Program in Paris, France, and invites up to twenty international artists, curators, and researchers. Lasting between 3 to 6 months, the residency spans various artistic disciplines, including visual arts, performing arts, digital arts, art criticism, and curatorial practices. Research areas such as the humanities, social sciences, sciences, technological innovation, and ecology are also eligible. This program provides artists with the opportunity to conduct research and create artistic projects in the heart of Paris. An international selection committee will choose up to twenty artists, providing them with a monthly artistic stipend and accommodation for the duration of the residency.

Art Explora, founded 2019, is an international foundation dedicated to fostering new connections between the arts and audiences on local, national, and global levels.
Art Explora’s mission is to promote cultural exchange with a wide range of individuals, aiming to renew the dialogue between the arts and the public on both local and global levels. 
Since its founding in 1965, the Cité Internationale des Arts has hosted artists from diverse backgrounds through its residency programs, fostering international collaboration and creativity.

The Art Explora Foundation is inviting applications for three separate pathways within its residency program: 

  • Solo Program - open to artists only, for 3 or 6 month residencies in March-August 2025 and September 2025-February 2026.

  • Collective program - open to collectives or duos of artists, researchers and curators, for a 3-month residencies in March-May 2025, June-August 2025, September-November 2025 and December 2025-February 2026.

  • Cross-Residency program in Tirana, Albania - open for 2 Solo artists with a duration of 3 months in Tirana and 3 months in Paris

The selection committee is composed of international professionals, including:

Eligibility:

  • Professional artists and artist collectives, researchers and curators, with a minimum of five years of professional activity, from all over the world can participate in this residency program

Participation fee:

  • Participation is free

Award/prize: 

  • Accommodation in a studio-apartment for 3- or 6-month

  • A working art studio

  • A production grant up to €3 000

  • A monthly artistic allowance up to €1 000
