About Opportunity

The internationally recognized New Mexico Museum of Art Vladem Contemporary invites visual and fine artists, both local and international, to apply for its 2024 Artist-in-Residence Program in New Mexico, USA. Each residency lasts between 2 to 4 weeks. An international selection committee will choose the best applicant, awarding them an honorarium of $10,000 and access to a working art studio. Each artist-in-residence is required to develop at least one public program during their residency, with support from the Museum staff. All projects should involve collaboration and community engagement through public programming.

The New Mexico Museum of Art, a division of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, opened in 1917. The museum aims to showcase art that spans a wide range of artistic practices, media, and time periods. It actively engages with regional artists and fosters connections with the broader creative community.

Eligibility:

  • Both mid-career and established fine or visual artists who are independent and self-sufficient, from all over the world can apply for this residency program
